Getting started
What do I need to use Stillpoint?
An iPhone on iOS 17 or later. Stillpoint uses Apple's Screen Time, so it needs Screen Time access, which you grant once during setup.
I tapped "Don't Allow" on the Screen Time prompt. How do I fix it?
- Open Stillpoint.
- On the Today tab, tap Continue on the Screen Time card.
- Allow Screen Time access when iOS asks.
If no prompt appears, delete and reinstall Stillpoint, then tap Continue during setup and allow Screen Time access.
Turned access off later in Settings › Screen Time › Apps with Screen Time Access? Turn Stillpoint back on there.
Blocking
A blocked app still opens. What should I check?
- Make sure Screen Time access is still on in Settings › Screen Time › Apps with Screen Time Access.
- Open Stillpoint and check that the rule is on and its schedule covers the current time and day.
- Edit the rule and tap Save. This registers the schedule with iOS again.
- Restart your iPhone. After an iOS update, Screen Time can take a restart to resume.
Still happening? Email us with the rule's type and schedule.
Why are the minutes in Stillpoint a little different from iOS Screen Time?
iOS reports usage to Stillpoint in 5-minute steps, so a daily limit counts in 5-minute increments. Your limit may end a few minutes earlier or later than the exact figure in Screen Time.
Why does Stillpoint show "This app is locked" instead of the app's name?
For privacy, Apple gives Stillpoint anonymous tokens instead of app names. In some places iOS shows the name, and in others it can't.
Can I turn off a rule that's in Strict mode?
Not while it's blocking. A strict schedule can be edited again when its window ends, and a strict daily limit can be changed before you reach it or the next day. A strict Focus session can't be ended early, but you can still take its break.
If your Premium subscription ends, your rules stay and you can always switch Strict mode off.
How do I remove all blocks right away?
Turn off or delete the rules in Stillpoint. If a strict rule is running, you can also turn off Stillpoint in Settings › Screen Time › Apps with Screen Time Access, or delete the app. Both remove every block immediately.
Time boxes and Focus
How do I open a locked app for a few minutes?
- On the lock screen, tap Choose a time box.
- Tap the notification from Stillpoint.
- Wait 5 seconds, then pick 2, 5 or 15 minutes.
When the time is used, the app locks again.
I tapped "Choose a time box" but no notification appeared.
Turn on notifications in Settings › Notifications › Stillpoint. If a Focus mode is on, allow Stillpoint in that Focus too.
Why are some time box options greyed out?
The rule also has a daily limit, and those options would go past the minutes you have left today. During a Focus session, time boxes aren't offered.
Why is the shortest Focus session 15 minutes?
iOS only runs Screen Time schedules that last at least 15 minutes, so Focus sessions start there.
Privacy and data
Can you see which apps I use?
No. Your app choices and usage are handled by iOS on your iPhone and never sent to us. We collect anonymous usage statistics, such as "a rule was saved", to improve the app. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up. Premium is tied to your Apple ID through the App Store.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app. Your rules and settings are stored only on your iPhone and are removed with it. To ask about analytics or purchase records, email us.
